Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • The topic must align with the aims and scope of HAPDIS: Education, Islamic Studies, and Science (and their intersections).

  • Manuscripts can be written in standard, academic English or Indonesian. For English submissions, professional proofreading is highly recommended.

  • The submission file must be in Microsoft Word document file format (.doc or .docx).

  • The manuscript length should be between 5,000 to 7,000 words (excluding references).

2. Manuscript Structure Articles submitted to HAPDIS must follow the IMRAD format (Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion).

  • Title: Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. Maximum 15 words.

  • Author Details: Full names of all authors (no academic titles), institutional affiliations (Department, Faculty, University, City, Country), and the email address of the corresponding author. ORCID IDs are highly encouraged.

  • Abstract: A concise summary of the research (150–250 words). It must explicitly contain the research background/objective, methods, main findings, and conclusions. Do not use citations in the abstract.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 words or phrases, separated by semicolons (;), reflecting the core of the article.

  • 1. Introduction: State the background of the study, identify the research gap based on a comprehensive literature review (state-of-the-art), and clearly state the research objectives or questions.

  • 2. Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Include research design, participants/sample, data collection instruments, and data analysis techniques.

  • 3. Results and Discussion: * Results: Present the findings clearly and logically. Use tables and figures only when necessary and ensure they are cited in the text.

    • Discussion: Interpret the findings, explain their significance, compare them with previous studies, and highlight the novelty of the research.

  • 4. Conclusion: State the main conclusions of the study, its limitations, and recommendations for future research or practical implications. Do not repeat the abstract or use bullet points.

  • Acknowledgments (Optional): Acknowledge anyone who contributed to the research but does not meet authorship criteria, including funding agencies (provide grant numbers if applicable).

  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.

3. Formatting and Figures/Tables

  • Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.

  • Tables/Figures: Must be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) with clear titles. Provide high-resolution figures. All tables must be editable (do not insert as images).

4. References and Citations HAPDIS uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.

  • Use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) to ensure citation accuracy.

  • Minimum requirement: At least 20-25 references per article.

  • Recency: At least 80% of the references must be primary sources (peer-reviewed journal articles) published within the last 10 years.

  • DOIs: Authors must include the active Digital Object Identifier (DOI) link for every cited journal article.
